Who We Are
Write Sensations is a specialized occupational therapy service, that offers a multi-sensory approach to fine motor development, pre-writing skills, handwriting instruction and remediation. Designed to support children of all skill levels, our engaging programs integrates visual, auditory, tactile, and kinetic input to help children build the foundational skills necessary for confident and effective written communication.
Beyond motor development, we offer multi-sensory instruction to help children develop self-regulation skills through mindful writing and expressive art.
Our approach is rooted in understanding each child’s unique strengths, challenges, and sensory needs to create a supportive and engaging learning experience. Through hands-on activities, personalized instruction, and creative strategies, Write Sensations focuses on strengthening motor skills, addressing handwriting challenges, and fostering a love for writing, while equipping children with the tools they need for academic success and lifelong learning.
Who We Work With
At Write Sensations, we offer a range of programs tailored to different age groups, including early childhood, primary, and pre-adolescent stages. We specializes in fine motor development and sensory-based handwriting instruction for neurodivergent children, those with a variety of diagnoses (including autism, ADHD, and developmental delays), and typically developing children who need extra support with handwriting. Our individualized interventions are carefully crafted, based on the handwriting assessment results, and cater to the specific developmental needs of each child. Interventions focus on building or remediating the underlying skills needed for successful handwriting abilities, including strength and endurance, visual perception, visual motor, fine motor, and coordination. Services are provided in natural contexts including the child's home, school, or a community location. By working in natural learning environments, we ensure our strategies are meaningful and easy to integrate into daily routines.
Kickstart to K
Our early learning program is tailored for children aged 3 - 5, focusing on foundational fine motor skill development, hand dominance, proper grip, directionality, and handwriting readiness. Through sensory activities and structured exercises, we aim to lay a strong foundation for children's future writing abilities.
Learn To Write
Our early elementary program is designed for K-1st grade students. The focus is on development of fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination, and handwriting abilities. Handwriting instruction focuses on capital and lowercase formations. Our multi-sensory interventions reinforce letter shapes and stroke sequences.
I Can Write
Our late elementary program is designed for 2nd-5th grade students including continuance of strengthening fine motor skills and instruction on sentence-level handwriting with focus on sizing, spacing, and orientation of each letter to achieve maximum legibility. Cursive instruction is also available
Legibility Workshop
Our pre-adolescent program is designed for older children who are struggling with producing neat and legible written output. Instruction focuses on a combination of remediation and modification techniques to increase fluidity, speed, and legibility of written output. Cursive instruction is also available
